RZR crank problems

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Having an RZR I know of the crank problems they have. If you jump them or do any type of engine mods to them the cranks do not last.  You can buy another crank but you will end up with the same problem.  These cranks are not designed to hold up if you run them with any extra modifications.  We ran NOS and jumped it a few times.  I think the combination of the two bent the crankshaft.  A guy I know Dave Moore ended up tearing the whole motor apart to inspect it.  He studied the design of the motor and saw the flaw the have in it.

We have since rebuilt the motor with high compression pistons, different cam grind, larger valves and other mods.  The crank has been trued and welded.  Dave has done a custom modification that should keep the crank from bending.  So far the engine is putting out around 60 h.p. and the crank is holding up. I believe Dave has fixed the crank issue we have had on the RZR.  This is a modification that all RZR owners should do to keep the crank in place.

The joy of having kids, and the changes that comes with them

When I was younger I saw myself as a partying dare devil who loved to have fun and ride. I was like any typical male, full of testosterone and fearless to almost anything. I loved to ride and push my limits. I rode anything that went fast; streetbikes, watercrafts and quads.

I lived like I swam daily in the fountain of youth . I always thought that I would never grow up and I would continue my Evil Knievel lifestyle. Little did I know that age and wisdom can catch up to you at anytime in life. After 11 years of riding street and 20 years of riding dirt, I had an epiphany. I’m crazy!

I started thinking about all of the things that can happen to me and affect my family. Is it worth it to my family? I soon realized that I have other people to think about other than myself. Its funny how we change throughout life and take in what life throws at us. I never would have thought. Growing up and the realization of what you didn’t see when you’re younger is a big step in life. Will I completely eliminate my passion, absolutely NOT; I will be more cautious in the decisions I make. Instead of a jumping that triple how about the double instead.

I miss riding my ATV’s

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

It has been several weeks since we have been to the coast to ride our ATV’s.  The weather is now so nice that I wish we were out on the Dunes.  Maybe soon we will be able to go back.

Currently our Atv’s are not working but are hopefully going to be back together again soon.  The sooner the better because this weather never lasts long!  Here in Oregon the weather can change over night so fast.  One day nice and sunny the next day it is cloudy and raining.  I guess this is the price we pay living in Oregon where it is green all the time.

I am having a new swingarm built for my banshee this should be completed in the next few days I am excited to see what it looks like.

The sun is out I will go for a ride on my motorcycle

You know around here we see so much rain so this time of year when the sun is out is very special to us.  What a nice way to enjoy the out doors going for a motorcycle ride.  The air if fresh and clean and riding towards the beach can be so much fun.  If you go riding on a week day not so many people are out and about because they are at work.  It is also much safer to ride during the week because of the fewer people on the road. Safety should always be taken as  a major concern when riding a motorcycle.

You know Harley Davidson motorcycles are very load for a reason to keep others around them aware of them.  Sure a Harley has a definite sound to them but this is for good reason.  So many Americans are used to the good old sounds of a Harley many of the Japanese companies are trying to follow there foot steps.  But one thing is for sure nothing compares to a Harley for the sound!
