We all love the Summer months, especially when there is plenty of warm perfect weather. Many parents like myself think of Summer as a love hate relationship. There Summer months by far is my favorite season, especially when the time is spent with your family and friends.  With everything there comes a cost.

With the kids out of school, and extra time for curricular activity. Keeping your kids involved during the times you’re at work during the Summer months is an added expense not many families realize, until it becomes time to get back to school; realizing you have drained your bank account to finance the Summer festivities.  School supplies and new school clothes is a much needed necessity for the upcoming school year.

Just because your kids are out of school doesn’t mean, your your job halts too.  I tend to find the Summer months a bit stressful in the beginning as I make future arrangements for the 3 months ahead starting in May. I usually budget out what we need and/or where we plan on going during the kid’s time off. My wife and I account for daycare (if needed), extra-curricular activities such as Karate, school supplies for the next school year and new school clothes. A lot to do when you have 3 kids and 1 one the way!  My 2 oldest, who normally is in school during the school year now has a large void of the day that needs to be filled.  Sometimes tricky when you’re on a budget and still need to keep the day job.  All in all, I value the Summer months I spend with my family much more knowing the work that is involved to make a memorable time for my family and I.

Having an RZR I know of the crank problems they have. If you jump them or do any type of engine mods to them the cranks do not last.  You can buy another crank but you will end up with the same problem.  These cranks are not designed to hold up if you run them with any extra modifications.  We ran NOS and jumped it a few times.  I think the combination of the two bent the crankshaft.  A guy I know Dave Moore ended up tearing the whole motor apart to inspect it.  He studied the design of the motor and saw the flaw the have in it.

We have since rebuilt the motor with high compression pistons, different cam grind, larger valves and other mods.  The crank has been trued and welded.  Dave has done a custom modification that should keep the crank from bending.  So far the engine is putting out around 60 h.p. and the crank is holding up. I believe Dave has fixed the crank issue we have had on the RZR.  This is a modification that all RZR owners should do to keep the crank in place.

If you are one who likes to shop a local mall is a great place to pick something up quick but if you are looking for the best deals and a specialty item them nothing beats online shopping.  Now with the power of the Internet at your hands finding a specialty item for a gift can be so easy.  I was looking for a gift idea for a golfer the other day and could not really find anything in my local town but went online and found so many shops offering golf gifts.  It really does not matter if you are looking for a pair of sunglasses or a gift basket full of different items you can find it online.

Beware shopping online can be very addictive because it is so easy to find things.  My mother was one who used to wait for the mail to get shopping magazines and what not but now with the internet at her hands it is very bad on the pocket book.  Buying things is so easy just going to google and doing an Internet search for the item you are wanting then in a few days it is delivered to your door.  Shipping is really not a big deal with UPS, FedEx and USPS the package can be delivered in a few days.

At times it can be very hard to find that perfect gift with so many different things to consider.  If you are one who does not like going to the shopping mall then shopping online might be the solution for you.  With so many companies now being online you have so many choices.  Many times you can find websites that will give you ideas for different presents whether it is for him or her many places will have suggestions.  Maybe that present needs to be for one who is a golfer or a person who takes vacations.  You can that perfect gift for just about any one.

I know a car would not be a normal gift idea for most people but you can find such great deals online.  Many sites offer true invoice prices on cars.  It is amazing what you can find.  It is no fun trying to buy a car from a car dealer so using the internet to get true invoice pricing will give you a better idea before you go buy one.  You can even find dealers who have Internet pricing and this can save you a lot of time and hassles.  Why go in person face to face when you can shop dealers right online.
